Description

British Caving

British Caving by members of the Cave Research Group (ie. it is multi-authored by experts in their fields), this being one of the groups that was extant before the British Cave Research Association was formed. This second, revised edition was published in 1962 and was the standard manual as an 'introduction to speleology'. Topics ranged from the Science of Caving (cave formation, theories, caving regions, caverns in mines - not a usual topic to find, but important nevertheless - and geophysics) to the Practice of Caving (exploration, equipment, searching for caves, cave diving by that pioneer Graham Balcombe, photography, surveying and the like. Though a collector's item, some of the content is still of interest both from a historical perspective and that not all information remains readily available today.

Please see under 'Product details' for information about the condition of this second-hand book; remember, the price includes postage.

The one copy available is assigned to UK stock. If you require a different post destination please contact us so that stock may be moved and you can place your order.
