Prehistoric Gower by J.G. Rutter
Prices include delivery
Prehistoric Gower by J.G. Rutter is a classic for that area of South Wales. It covers the early archaeology of West Glamorgan (the county as was) and is arranged by date, one chapter per age, with a complete index and bibliography. The index even divides sites for England and the Continent, for finding comparisons.
Gower is known for its archaeological caves, such as Minchin Hole, Cathole, Longhole, Paviland, Bacon Hole and the like. Old photos of many of these, as well as a listing of the principal caves with their locations, is one of the interesting features of the book. An important resource.
