Ten Years Under the Earth by Norbert Casteret might be the commonest of caving books in the second-hand market, at least in the mass-market version. This copy is the Readers' Union edition and therefore priced much lower than the collectable first edition; it is a good reading copy. Casteret was an excellent writer and started many a caving career by enthusing young adventurers and Ten Years should be on every caver's booklist. Chapters cover prehistory as well as Casteret's experiences, how he began caving and explored sites such as the Grotte Casteret and the deepest abyss then in France, the Gouffre Martel.
Please see under 'Product details' for information about the condition of this second-hand book; remember, the price includes postage.
